At the end of Week 4 of our 20-4-20 initiative, for our 8th act of outreach, we have Varsity Coordinator, Tahir Khan, to give you helpful tips and tricks for the "5 Pillar of Health".
Health is often looked at from many different lenses and advice regarding it can get a little heavy at times. We wanted to simplify it during these complicated times and give our Sheridan students, staff, faculty and alumni some tips that are simple and easy to follow. The goal here is to look at health and wellness from a holistic perspective and how to make simple changes that can have a significant impact on your overall health, which of course is important in our current situation.
Today we are looking at the "5 Pillars of Health" which include:
- Physical Activity
- Healthy Eating
- Proper sleep
- Reduce stress
- Time in Nature
The "5 Pillars" identified, focus on an overall look at improving both physical and mental health. The corresponding video will dive a bit deeper into each "pillar" and give simple and actionable advice on how you can improve in each area. What's important, especially now more than ever, is to take out time for yourself and try to spend a bit of time each day focusing on self-care. We certainly hope that you find this information useful and it helps you on your journey to feeling your best!
