Oakville, Ont - The Women's Soccer team had an unfortunate finish at the OCAA Championships in Ancaster. After they defeated the Algonquin Thunder in the Quarter Finals 1-0, the Bruins moved on to the Semi Finals against the Fanshawe Falcons. Although the Bruins didn't give up, fighting till the end, the Falcons were able to put in two early goals leaving the Bruins left on their heels trying to catch up. Unfortunately, after a questionable penalty call the Bruins were left "At the bottom of a huge hill, unable to reach the top", said Head Coach Paul Angelini; resulting in a team lost of 5-1.
Moving on to the Bronze Medal Match against the Bruin's rivals, the Humber Hawks, the Bruins struggled to keep possession in the first half of the game, however they stayed strong, and continued to work hard throughout the game. Unfortunately, the Bruins were unable to pull a win against the Hawks, resulting in a 2-0 loss, and a 4th place ranking overall in the season. As noted from Angelini "It was disappointing not to come away with a medal", however as a team the Bruins plan to build and "Take the lessons learned throughout the outdoor season with us into the indoor season and on to the next outdoor season".
As the OCAA season wraps up, the OCAA hosted in partnership with Redeemer the Annual Awards Banquet.
