Women's Volleyball: Closing the 2019 Season on a Win

Oakville, Ont - The Women's Volleyball team had a big weekend, with back to back games on Saturday and Sunday, which means limited time to rest between games, however, they did not let that affect their performance this weekend. Amazing efforts goes out to the Bruins, as they were able to turn things around from a 5 game losing streak and winning both back to back games this weekend. Starting off on Saturday night, the Bruins hosted the Boréal Vipères (0-9), playing with confidence and certainty, throughout each set the Bruins were able to defeat Boréal 3-0. They started off strong in the first set, wining 25-10, for the second set they started off chasing the lead, however, they pulled out the victory 25-22 and the 3rd set they dominated the court and took the set 25-8.

Moving on to Sunday afternoon, although the weather outside was not on their side the Bruins were still able to continue on their winning streak against the Cambrian Gold Shield (2-7). In the first set the Bruins started off a little rocky but were quickly able to turn things around winning the set 25-16. For the second set the Bruins were in a closer match, taking the victory 25-18 and the third set 25-16; defeating the Gold Shields 3-0 overall.

The Bruins closed off their 2019 season on a high note and successfully bringing their record to 3-6. Way to go Bruins!

 The Bruins are now on Holiday Season break and will return to the court in the New Year. The Bruins next game is Jan. 9th at 6:00pm against the Fanshawe Falcons at home.
