BRAMPTON, Ont. - Second-year point guard Sydney Charvis has been named an OCAA Star of the Week after pacing the Sheridan Bruins women's basketball team (13-4, 8-2 OCAA) to victories over Mohawk and Conestoga, while orchestrating the offence to an average of 84 points, and limiting both opponents to less than 50.
Charvis averaged 17.5 points, five rebounds, four assists, and two steals in the wins, topping the 20-point mark for the fourth time this season with 22 against Mohawk, and in the Bruins' three-game winning streak is putting up 20 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.
As the season approaches the midway point, she is scoring 16.4 points while hauling down 4.9 rebounds per game. The team will close out the first semester with a trip to Niagara on Dec. 6.
