2000-01 Men's Basketball Team

The 2000-2001 version of the Sheridan Bruins Men's Basketball program still remains one of the most storied teams in the history of the double-blue. The team struggled through a training camp that was riddled with injuries and then faced a first semester that was filled with doubts and leadership struggles. A renewed commitment to defense combined with some roster turnover at Christmas helped to right a ship that was headed straight for a rocky landing. In fact, by the time the Christmas break arrived, the team was saddled with a record of 12 wins and 13 losses.  When January arrived, the team hit a new stride and did not lose a game until the national final. Not surprisingly, stars Ricardo Edwards and Elvis Dennis made the second and first OCAA team all-star list, respectively, with Dennis taking home the OCAA Championship MVP title. Along the way, they set the standard for defensive excellence, exhibited a never-say-die resilience, and won the seventh Ontario Championship in program history.
